This guy is a really talented ceramic artist with roots in Japan. He came to Sweden some years ago, to further educate himself in ceramic art. Check out his web page: www.masayoshi-oya.com

We got to see the new work for his next exhibition in Helsinki. Really nice cups and bowls in fantastic colors. Keep an eye out for his new stuff. It’s killer!

Back home from lovely Dalsland. I spent a couple of days there with my friends. I just had time to start helping them with one of the mini golf courses for their art history golf challenge. Their plan was to make famous pieces of art in miniature scale to use as obstacles for the mini golf, as i mentioned in my prior post.

My contribution, or sart of contribution, was Lars Vilks’s Nimis. Though I far from like all of his work, Nimis is a fantastic piece on a fantastic spot, at Kullaberg in Skåne. What also fit the Nimis way of working, was that i started building and someone else will take over the process of creating the piece.

Anyhow, I had a grerat time in Dalsland at Not Quite in Fängersfors. Thank you all!

Peace out!

They’re doing other stuff to. On the picture you can see Justin’s climbing sculpture. It’s going to be hit by a astroid any day now. I think it will be great.

Well, that’s all for today.

This Friday we finished the sculpture symposium here in Greenwich. Around 20 artistis from all over the world contributed with fantastic sculptures that at this moment can be viewed at the Roger Sherman Baldwin Park in Greenwich, Connecticut.

My sculpture, which is untitled at the moment, was finished after a really tough week of welding and grinding. Getting the material five days to late, in a ten day symposium, doesn’t make things less stressful. I’m satisfied with the result though, minding the circumstances. I didn’t have time to make it exactly as I wanted, but I came close.

We had a great goodbye party friday evening, with dinner in the park, dancing in the Sundown Saloon until the closed for the night, meeting great Puerto Ricans with great sound system in their car, eating home delivered pizza on the sidewalk. It was fantastic.

The last two days we have been spending time here in Greenwich, hanging out with our friends. It’s always sad to say goodbye to great friends like this. I’ll hope we’ll meet soon again.

Peace out!

Tomorrow is fourth of July. The day of days here in USA. We’ll be able to work half of the day but in the evening there will be some sort of party. We’ll see what happens.

Holy shit. I will never forget this day. We got up really early today to go and get our material for our sculptures. First we went to get Jens’s stuff at a metal workshop close by, then me and Mary went to Brooklyn to get my steel plates. That was a trip I’ll tell you. We had to bribe union people, sweet talk police officers to avoid a fine and drive with an over loaded van to Connecticut to get what we wanted. The story is long and I can tell it to anyone that is interested. The importent thing was that i got the material.

The most difficult part though, was actually to get the plates of the van. They are extremely heavy and were loaded on the truck, by the bribed union people and me, with the help of a forklift and a traverse. They are five by ten feet, quarter inch steel plates. One week ago I didn’t have a clue what that was, but now I know. It’s heavy shit! Anyhow we cracked our backs and got the plates of the van with rolls of cardboard, ropes but mostly raw manpower. Or as we say in Sweden: vi svinade av dom.

All this meant that I got to start working on my sculpture today, only five days too late. I’m in a hurry so to say. I cut one of four plates and tomorrow I’m cutting the rest.

In the evening we had a great party at the boat club. A really good band played and they invited us to a jam session which was really nice. I already knew Jens was a good drummer, but Francisco surprised me with a being a harmonica phantom and Kent just ripped it on the bass. Lovely evening with lovely friends. Tomorrow work will continue in super madness speed.

Peace out!
